Sunday School: 10/6/13


TOPIC:
In this lesson, the children will learn how God created an entire nation of people, starting with just the faith and obedience of one man who chose to follow Him.
OPENING MUSIC:
Angela Zoltek will lead the opening music

The Doxology
Praise God from whom all blessings flow,
Praise Him, all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, you heavenly host;
Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost

STORY:
Read the passages to the children.
Discussion Questions:
1. What did God tell Abram to do? (Leave his country, his people and his father's household to go to an unknown land)
2. What promises did the Lord make to Abram? (I will make you into a great nation, I will make your name great. I will bless those who bless you and whoever curses you I will curse. All peoples on earth will be blessed through you)
3. How did Abram demonstrate his faith in God? (He obeyed God and left all that was familiar to him)
4. How old was Abram when he left his father's household? (75 years old)
5. What did Abram take with him when he left? (His wife Sarai, his brother's son Lot, all of their possessions and the people they had acquired)
HOW MANY STARS?:
The kids will draw as many stars as they can on a sheet of paper to demonstrate how many people God promised to Abram.

STAR MOBILE:
Kids will color the stars.  With help from adults, the stars will be connected with yarn to paper plates to make mobiles.
